A talented Preparatory School cricketer could be set for national recognition after a fine season.
Cieran Milligan, a Year 5 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, has been put forward for a National Development Coaching programme by his coaches at Mochdre Cricket Club, with a decision on the squad expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The nine-year-old has enjoyed a huge amount of success as part of the club this season, which saw the U11 side claim the Eryri title after a fantastic win over Bethesda.
Also part of the squad were fellow Prep School pupils James Gilman and Biv Gilmartin, while Year 7 talent George Watkins also contributed significantly throughout the campaign.
They were unable to replicate this in the North Wales Police Challenge Shield on Sunday, March 17 as they suffered a narrow loss to Buckley in a highly competitive final.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “Cieran is a multi-talented individual who excels in a number of sporting areas, and hopefully his dedication and commitment will be rewarded with a place on the national development coaching programme.
“We are enormously proud of Cieran, James and Biv for what they accomplished with Mochdre last season, and their efforts should give them a great deal of encouragement as they look to progress their game over the winter months.”
