Community Choir to launch 'Bring a Friend Fortnight' after half term break

Rydal Penrhos’ Community Choir is launching a special recruitment drive following the half term break.

The group, which is open to those associated with the school and members of the public, are welcoming new additions to the Choir with a “Bring a Friend Fortnight”, which will be held on Thursday, March 7 and 14.

This will involve a current member of the Choir bringing along someone they know that is interested in singing socially, and hopefully this will add to the consistent presence of 20-25 within the group on a weekly basis.

The Choir is led by Rydal Penrhos’ immensely talented Director of Music Pete Wiliams, and they perform at high-profile events such as the Christmas Concert and Speech Day.

They also hold their own Concerts to raise funds for worthy causes within the region and beyond, with the group raising more than £8,000 to date.

The Community Choir meets once a week to rehearse, and new members are always welcome to attend.

There are no auditions prior to joining the Choir, and all are welcome.

Mr Williams, said: “Our Community Choir do so much fantastic work and have a great deal of fun in the process.

“This is something that would be further boosted with more members, and with the Choir accepted members of our fantastic community as well as those associated with the school the Bring a Friend Fortnight is an opportunity not to be missed.”

If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact Alumni and Development director Sarah Ritchie at SJRitchie@rydalpenrhos.com.
