An aspiring young netballer was rewarded for an exceptional season with her local club with two awards.
Charlotte Payne, a Year 4 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, came away with a notable double from Colwyn Bay Netball Club’s end of season presentation evening, which was held earlier this month.
The nine-year-old has progressed significantly throughout the campaign and received the Most Improved Player distinction for her contribution to the Colwyn All-Stars U9 Girls’ side.
This was followed up by another award for her consistent performances with Colwyn Sharks, which is a team predominantly comprised of teenager, but Charlotte managed to defy her age and become a valued member of the team, which was reflected with her Junior League Most Improved Player title.
This is the latest in a long line of achievements for the Prep School pupil, who is flourishing in a wide range of different areas under the guidance of Rydal Penrhos’ dedicated staff.
She is a talented Hockey player, an award-winning showjumper and also played a significant part in the recent Year 4 play A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Charlotte and one that further outlines her determination and willingness to learn in a variety of different activities.
“She is very active, has a great attitude to all academic and co-curricular subjects and continues this outside of school hours which has also aided her development considerably.
“Everyone at Rydal Penrhos is thrilled for Charlotte and hopefully there will be many more accolades for her in the future.”
