A Rydal Penrhos pupil has been given a significant honour in recognition for her efforts as part of her local Air Cadet group.
Charlotte Grosart, a Year 10 pupil at the school, was promoted to the rank of Corporal at ATC squadron 2480 Holywell, and she received her new distinction at a recent meeting.
This comes as a result of the 15-year-old’s exceptional dedication to the Air Cadets, where she is learning a variety of new skills in addition to leadership techniques.
It has been a busy few weeks for the pupil, who gave a standout performance of the Adele hit ‘Someone Like You’ during a recent Senior School Chapel and at the inaugural Creative and Performing Arts dinner.
The news comes just a few short weeks before Armed Forces inspiration and former pupil Flt Lt Nathan Jones will return to Rydal Penrhos as the special guest speaker at the school’s annual Speech Day, which is one of the most prominent and eagerly anticipated dates on the calendar.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “Charlotte is a multi-talented pupil who shows a great determination in everything she does academically and during co-curricular activities, so it is no surprise to see her receiving this well-deserved promotion.
“The Air Cadet programme is a fantastic way to build essential life skills which transition to other areas of a child’s education, and Charlotte can be very proud of her efforts with ATC squadron 2480 Holywell so far.”
