Two Preparatory School pupils have received recognition for a sterling season with their local Pony Club.
Charlotte Payne and Rupert Barrington-Chance, Year 5 pupils at Rydal Penrhos, were jointly awarded with the Best Junior Trophy at Aberconwy Pony Club’s recent Annual General Meeting.
They received the accolade as a result of their outstanding overall contribution throughout the club during the year, which includes a series of exceptional results in regional competitions throughout the course of the campaign.
The duo have been part of the club for a number of years and have developed their skills considerably, which is a strong indication of further success in the future if they continue to progress at their current rate.
Both Charlotte and Rupert have achieved a significant amount during their time at Rydal Penrhos, thriving from an academic perspective and in a sporting environment.
Charlotte was part of the Prep School’s U11 Hockey side that were crowned North Wales U1 Plate champions to secure qualification to the national finals, with Rupert playing a leading role for Rydal Penrhos’ U10 and 11 rugby squad en route to their fifth consecutive Cooper Cup victory over Colwyn Bay.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Charlotte and Rupert are so enthusiastic in everything they do and we were thrilled to hear of their recent award from the Aberconwy Pony Club.
“They are a pleasure to have here at Rydal Penrhos and their work-ethic, determination and will to succeed has resulted in them secure some very notable milestones that have been a hugely influential factor in their overall development in and out of the classroom.”
