Three Preparatory School pupils have moved to within one level of completed a special learning initiative.
Rydal Penrhos staff devised a new spelling challenge for pupils last year, which has three different levels each with 110 words.
The pupils have been encouraged to work towards their incremental targets of Gold, Silver and Bronze within each stage, and a plethora of certificates have already been issued as a result of their hard work since the initiative began.
Year 5 trio Cameron Pye, Lily Copeland and Tilly Trueman have been soaring through the challenge since the start of the academic year, and they recently came through their Stage Three Silver Award assessments with flying colours.
This means they are now just one level away from completion, and all three received a certificate acknowledging their achievement from Prep School Head Alison Hind and Executive Principal John Waszek at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, March 8.
Mrs Hind, said: “This represents a significant achievement for Cameron, Lily and Tilly, and they now have just one more assessment to go to become some of the youngest pupils that have ever completed our Spelling Challenge.
“They have all worked immensely hard to improve their vocabulary and have used their own initiative to learn independently, so I don’t think it will be long before they are celebrating again!”
