Two Sixth Form pupils at Rydal Penrhos will be looking to continue the school’s exceptional charity work after being appointed to leadership positions.
Brona Richardson and Holly Battersby, Year 12 pupils at the school, have been awarded the responsibility of Co-Charing the Sixth Form Charity Committee with immediate effect.
The pair have already been heavily involved within the committee during the current academic year, which has been a record-breaking one from a fundraising perspective.
This is down to the sensational efforts from the committee, who worked together with the Friends of Rydal Penrhos group to put on a fun-filled and festive Christmas Market, which raised a phenomenal £1,827.14 for Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice in Conwy.
Another notable event was the ever-popular BBC Children in Need fundraising day that raised more than £1,000 for the nationwide drive.
This is just one of many leadership opportunities available as part of the school’s thriving Sixth Form, with those living and learning at the site presented with the chance to join various committees or apply for the coveted Prefect positions.
Acting Head Sally Harding, said: “Our Sixth Form Charity Committee do so much wonderful work for worthy causes throughout the region and further afield, and this is going to continue under the leadership and guidance of Brona and Holly.
“They are outstanding role models who have been a huge part of Rydal Penrhos life during their time here, and both Brona and Holly are sure to thrive with this extra responsibility.”
