Head of Boys' Hockey Phil Mather brings you the second weekly round-up of the season, which features a commanding performance from our U15 side:
Thursday saw the U15s travel to Wirral Grammar School and in a strong performance in all areas ran out 6-0 victor.
Well played Sam Bixby and George Smith-Edwards in defence whilst, at the other end, goals were scored by Adrian Lewis, Josh Manning, Kevin Farrell, Tegid Goodman Jones with Zach Speakman scored the remaining two.
The U14 boys had their second game of the season against Wirral GS and started slowly conceding two quick goals in the first ten minutes.
As the half materialised we began to fight back and converted a short corner scored by Thomas Hughes which took us to 3-1 at half time.
There was a strong performance from Aidan Skinner in goal but the second half saw us concede further goals.
The U13 A team came up against a well organised and skilful King’s Macclesfield side on Saturday who were strong on the ball and whilst Niall Richardson and Jacob Cousins, to name but two, tried their best to keep the opposition out we were down at half time.
The second half was more even with the scores being even at 3-3. The U13 B game was more balanced, and James Copeland led the way looking to keep the goalkeeper busy with the final score being in King’s favour.
The U12s enjoyed their first competitive match and will have learned much from it. Well played to Christian Cheesley, however, who was player of the match.
The ‘B’ team, however, won 3-1 with goals from Jonathan Osbourne, Edward Altoft and George Watkins with Arran Sen player of the match.
Freddy James played superbly well in goal in both games.
