Boys’ Hockey players at Rydal Penrhos competed for bragging rights at an annual competition recently.
The school held its Junior, Intermediate and Senior Inter-House competitions earlier this term, and a stunning performance from Payne saw them emerge victorious thanks to their standout efforts.
They managed to win 11 out of their 12 contests throughout all three competitions in order to achieve the crown, pipping second placed Morgan by a comfortable margin.
The junior group were led superbly by Liam Farrell, James Gilman, Harley Doyle and Zac Hay, with the likes of Tegid Goodman-Jones and Kevin Farrell leading by example in the senior section of the tournament.
Others that contributed significantly to their triumph were Ewan Luke, Zac Blomeley, Eddie Farrell, Harry Fardoe and Iestyn Williams.
Wesley secured third spot, with Osborn rounding off the placings in fourth.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “It was another very impressive Boys’ Hockey Inter-House tournament across all categories, and it was another outstanding showcase of the talent we have here at Rydal Penrhos.
“This commitment and dedication has resulted in an enormous amount of regional and national success for the school in recent years, and the competition was played in the right spirit and was very competitive throughout.
“Payne really did rise to the occasion and were thoroughly deserving of their victory.”
