A Sixth Form pupil at Rydal Penrhos is celebrating after securing a place at one of the most prestigious further education establishments in the world.
Ben Gibson, a Year 13 pupil at the school, received confirmation if his place at the University of Cambridge on Thursday, August 16, where he will study History.
The 18-year-old secured 39 points in his International Baccalaureate results last month, which included top scores of seven in both English A and History as a result of his outstanding commitment to his studies under the guidance and care of dedicated staff situated at the school.
The fantastic news rounds off a very memorable time at Rydal Penrhos for the outgoing pupil, who is one of the true success stories of the all-round education provided at the school and the exceptional progression it is making under the leadership of Headmaster Simon Smith.
Ben was one of the key contributing factors to the inception and success of the school’s pupil newspaper The RePorter alongside Elinor Davies, and his sublime violin playing has been a notable highlight during a series of different concerts put on throughout the year.
