Rydal Penrhos Community

      For boys

      Housemaster: Mr Ian Richardson
      Matron: Mrs Sally Leach
      Assistant Housemistress: Mrs Leah Crimes

Beecholme is a house for boys in Years 7-12 and is one of the larger boarding houses at Rydal Penrhos. There are 14 bedrooms and boys share rooms in threes and fours. Sixth form members of the house have greater independence in line with their age and responsibility.

Ian Richardson has been housemaster at Beecholme for eight years and is ably assisted by his wife Mary who is an integral part of the Beecholme community. They are joined by Sally Leach, matron, and Leah Crimes, full-time assistant.

The atmosphere at Beecholme is very friendly and family orientated – Ian and Mary have three children. This makes the house a very caring environment in which to live.

The layout in Beecholme is sociable, with rooms running alongside a hallway, which acts as a social hub where everyone can meet. There are many attractive features including wood panelling, a spacious hallway, and a grand piano.

Golf is a house passion. Ian holds a golf academy for pupils on Fridays at the Abergele Golf Club or the Bodelwyddan driving range, with fixtures on Wednesdays. There are also trips to watch Manchester City football matches at the weekends, as well as theatre, cinema and city visits.
