A track and field star produced another fine effort to come away with a notable triumph from a regional meet.
Jonathan Osbourne, a Year 7 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, turned in another hugely encouraging performance at the North Wales Youth Development League, which was held in Wrexham earlier this month.
The academic and sports scholar produced a sensational effort to cross the line first in the 200-metre race, securing a new personal best in the process.
This was followed by another impressive display in the 100m sprint, where he finished joint-second in a very competitive category and narrowly missed out on another personal best by 0.2 seconds.
Jonathan has achieved a number of outstanding results as part of the school’s sports scholarship scheme, which has seen him work with dedicated coaching and strength and conditioning staff throughout his first year of Senior School life with fantastic results.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This is yet another superb performance from Jonathan and one that can give him a great deal of confidence and encouragement as he looks to progress his career on the track.
“He has worked incredibly hard during early morning sessions to improve his conditioning, and his drive and determination are sure to bring even more successes as he develops under the watchful eye of our staff in the coming years.”
