Two talented Hockey players at Rydal Penrhos have secured an award thanks to an outstanding campaign for a regional side.
Ariana Milligan and Eve Durrans, Year 8 pupils at the school, have turned out for Eirias Hockey Club throughout a busy season of competitive fixtures, which has further enhanced their experience and skill-set.
The duo have become hugely influential members of the youth set-up, and they were acknowledged by coming away with the joint-Player of the Year accolade for the U13A squad.
This is the latest in a series of impressive achievements for the sports scholars, who earned selection to the North Wales U13 squad alongside fellow pupil Lily Davies ahead of a high-profile national competition in Nottingham next month.
Both Ariana and Lily have also been part of Hockey Wales’ 360˚ initiative, which is a talent development system that helps support and progress talented athletes to achieve their potential.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Ariana and Eve have developed their hockey skills a significant amount both with Eirias Hockey Club and with our dedicated coaching staff here at Rydal Penrhos throughout the season.
“Their hard work, willingness to listen and ability to adapt have seen a marked increase in their consistency, and we would like to congratulate Ariana and Eve on jointly winning the Player of the Year title as a result of their efforts.”
