Rydal Penrhos is delighted to announce its Osborn House Captains for the 2019/20 academic year.
The school’s Head of Sixth Form Leah Crimes revealed that Arend Franssens and Bijou Rajagopal will assume the role following a successful application process, taking over from Upper Sixth Form duo Joseph Morrow and Ruby James.
All House Captains this year will also be part of the Prefect Team, working with newly appointed Head Boy Ioan Peake-Jones and Head Girl Millie Collins to ensure the smooth running of the school from a pupil perspective.
Arend is a very strong academic who has been part of the Rydal Penrhos community since Year 9, and he was recently awarded a prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, which is offered to UK pupils to pursue a career in engineering, computing and related areas of technical design.
Bijou is another fine example of what can be achieved from a Rydal Penrhos education, and she has also lent her support to younger members pupils as a Peer Mentor, and has performed at various concerts throughout the academic year.
Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “Arend and Bijou are wonderful role models for younger members of the Rydal Penrhos family, who are sure to benefit considerably from their appointment as Prefects and Osborn House Captains.
“They lead by example and have achieved an exceptional amount during this time, and I would like to congratulate them on securing their new roles.”
