A former Rydal Penrhos pupil has achieved more chart success with Catfish and the Bottlemen.
Rob Hall, who left the school in 2011, is a drummer with the Llandudno four-piece, who released their eagerly anticipated third album entitled The Balance late last month.
The band have developed a huge following across the country and they managed to secure number two in the UK Album Chart, behind only worldwide megastar Pink’s latest release.
One consolation at not getting the top spot – the band secured the number one berth in the Official Vinyl Albums Chart.
This latest success comes on the back of their second album The Ride, which reached number one, and the BRIT Award winners continue their quest for global domination during a mammoth tour of the United States throughout June.
The indie rockers are also scheduled to play a series of festival dates on home soil before travelling to the southern hemisphere for a six-date tour of Australia.
Director of Music Pete Williams, said: “This is another very notable milestone for Rob as part of his involvement with Catfish and the Bottlemen, who are riding on the crest of a wave at the present time and long may it continue.
“They have come an incredibly long way in a relatively short space of time and are thoroughly deserving of all the accolades that continue to come their way.”
