I am writing to ensure that parents are kept well informed about the work of the Rydal Penrhos Governing Board and, most importantly, about developments at the school which enhance the provision for pupils. We are committed to developing an open relationship with the parent body and I trust that this and other news from the school will help to achieve that objective.
I am pleased to inform you that following a meeting of the governing body last week we have ratified the proposals from the Senior Leadership Team which approve the changes to the Senior School day, the curriculum and the fee structure. Further letters containing the detail of these will be sent to you this week.
All governors were delighted to see the really strong presentations from the team; I might add, a happy and rejuvenated team.
The board also went on to agree that John Waszek should remain in place as Executive Principal of the School until September 2020. This will bring a much needed period of stability. Sally Harding will continue as Senior School Head teacher and Alison Hind as Prep School Head teacher, and combined with the other senior leaders of the school, we are fortunate to have such a very experienced team.
This decision also gives us time to undertake a full recruitment process for a new Principal, starting in September this year. This is the normal time to go to market and for candidates to be looking for new opportunities. Typically, school leaders have two terms notice and therefore this timeframe allows us to select from a greater pool of candidates who will be seeking a move for the 2020-21 academic year.
I trust the above meets with your full approval.
With kind regards
Mr Julian Barnes
