As part of a special feature, we take a look at some of the strong individual performances that contributed to Rydal Penrhos’ record-breaking A-level results this summer.
We continue with Emily Cashell:
Following in the footsteps of two talented sisters would be a daunting task for most, but Emily not only took on the responsibility of the Rydal Penrhos Cashell dynasty, but thrived under the pressure.
The 18-year-old became a hugely influential figure within her year group and throughout the entire school community, something that saw her contribute across a multitude of different areas and develop considerably under the guidance of dedicated staff operating at the senior site.
Whether it be as Hockey captain, as a Prefect or on the Netball court, Emily has left Rydal Penrhos a much better place and has ensured that the last Cashell to depart the school has left another lasting legacy.
Emily’s work as charity committee head alongside Olivia Williams drew widespread praise, with events such as the Christmas Market in aid of Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice, BBC Children in Need Day and Sport Relief Day raising a considerable amount for both regional and national causes.
Her A-level results this summer were fantastic, with the talented pupil securing A grades in both Art and Design and Religious Studies, and Emily also managed to gain a B mark in Geography thanks to her impressive dedication to her studies.
As a result of her outstanding achievements, Emily will now head to the University of Warwick where she will study Philosophy.
